Eva came home from school Thursday all concerned about this weekend. We set the record straight: yes bad men got on planes and hurt lots of people, no this did not occur every year. We just want to remember and honor the good people, every year, that gave their lives trying to save others.
We love our firefighters especially when they have been working so hard here in Texas. We actually were a block away from one fire last week, scary but with in minutes they were there. I desided to make a thank treat for them, and take the kids after church to delivery it. I read on a food blog about making cakes for this day, but found a better, possible family tradition, Apple French Lace Bread. Mom use to make this for Christmas breakfast with cherries. Today apples to representative American apple pie and the weave that binds us together seemed more appropriate. May we never forget all our public protectors here and across the oceans. I am glad to help our children learn thankfulness for the men and women who keep us safe.
