It is possible to live without milk products, but there are a few things that I miss. I try hard to focus on the benefits:
1. Lucia can drink my "milk"
2. Craving and eating more fruits and veggies
3. Rice and soy milk are sweet
4. Food taste better with olive oil
5. Making mom's french bread and basic biscuits are great
It has been amazing to realize how many foods, especially processed, contain milk/whey. I miss milk chocolate, pudding, cheese on anyhing, some desserts. Before rice and soy milk I missed cereal, pancakes/waffles, and yogurt. They will be missed, but not bad enough to give up the healthy benefits.
Even though I still don't have a good balance of my nutrients missing from dairy, the number one fact is I am no longer blotted or constipated. I think this maybe a life changing habit to keep even when Lucia doesn't need my "milk".
