Birthday

So I had another birthday Tuesday. I took a half day vacation from work. Got off work at noon, had lunch then had an eye exam at 3pm. This is the first real eye exam I have had since I was 10. Back then the Dr. said I needed glasses for reading. I chose a frame (poor selection from the military) that I thought looked OK. Wore those glasses for about 6 months and gave up on them. Back to today. The Dr. was no to pleased with me and said that I should have been wearing glasses since then, and didn't know how I say what I was seeing. I am far sighted and My eyes were fighting hard to compensate. Long story short I now have glasses that I have to wear all the time. Ordered them on Tuesday and the came in on Friday.

Before getting my eyes checked Heather checked out a book at the Library for me to read (943 pages). It was on Opera's book club list. "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett
I started it February 19th and finished it this morning at 1am. It was a good book, except it should be rated R. Most of it was good except a few parts, immorality and things of war back in the days of Knights and Earle's and Kings. I laughed and cried at different parts.
Finishing this book makes me want to read more books, It has been a long while since I read some long good books. Most recent would be "The Porter Rockwell Chronicles" and that was 3 1/2 years ago. I will keep you'all posted on any good books I find. I think, for now, I will mostly be looking for Midevil Fantasy (Dragons & knights) books.

I've wanted to read "Pillars of the Earth" since I heard about it on Operah, but I was waiting for someone I know to read it so I could hear what they thought about it. I've learned that most of the books she recommends are a little rough, in terms of immorality and language. I'm still debating whether I should read it or not. I'll let you know if I do!
